Skills needed to use ArkCase
ArkCase makes use of functions and features commonly found on Internet sites and pages. To navigate ArkCase, you do not need to be computer expert. Some functions do require basic computer skills, such as the ability to enter and edit text, make selections from lists and calendars, attach files using Windows Explorer, and drag and drop objects from one place to another.
What does ArkCase do?
ArkCase is an Enterprise Case Management tool that automates case investigation and analysis. It is designed to track cases from start to close–to substantiate an event, initiate an investigation, move it through completion, and retain it as business record.
ArkCase gives its users an online framework–a set of adjustable case-based spaces–for organizing and streamlining the investigative process.
Within the framework, ArkCase can be customized–even integrated with some external systems–according to accepted business rules and processes. Organizations can define internal collaboration, information identification, required information, access roles, supporting forms, approval, and more.
How does ArkCase help me?
Simply, you can focus on the investigation, ArkCase will handle the work-through.
ArkCase constructs a consistent format and workflow for conducting investigations. Using ArkCase you can:
|Initiate a request for investigation quickly||ArkCase makes it easy to quickly initiate investigations – collect pre-case information and case information. You can fill out the New request forms in a few screens, convenient when on the telephone or referring to a written communication. You can download information to the New request, from existing Web forms or from existing personal contact records.|
|Automatically route items for review||New pre-case and case requests automatically route to designated approvers and create a due date for action. Other locally defined events (based on business rules) that occur during the completion process also initiate automatic action for review and approval.|
|Create a new investigation with minimal data entry||After the request is submitted and approved, the workflow automatically creates the investigation – a unique number is assigned; all information on the request fills to the new investigation including title, detail, type, owner, and participants; and a copy of the request (pre-case or case) is added to the Documents folder.|
|Store and access supporting material in one place||The substance of the investigation – the people, places, and things, even related expenses – gets associated to and is directly accessible from a single online space.|
|Access information created by other team members||Once a record is created, it’s available for use again and again. Personal contact information can be called up as needed, without repeated entry of telephone numbers or email addresses or other vital identification. (Role-based permissions determine your access.)|
|Create and attach supporting material directly from the ArkCase screen||Documents, forms, correspondence, even photos and videos, can be attached directly to the investigation. Material can be created, or downloaded from your folders, while you’re working online, without having to leave the ArkCase screen.|
Manage case-related documents
All files associated to a case (as well as to complaints and tasks) can be managed at the document level. Access permissions can be assigned to individual documents. Document versions are tracked, previous versions can be reviewed and reinstated.
|Create tasks from and associate them to a case or complaint||Tasks get auto-created and assigned or reassigned, auto-generate a due date, and automatically route to a designated approver or owner|
Search and report on the case repository
All in-progress and historical content in the ArkCase repository is accessible. Use search to quickly find specific or general information. Your organization defines the available reports and formats.
The ArkCase framework is built with modules. Each module is a container of similar case-related information, for example modules titled Case Files, Complaints, and Tasks are case containers of individual cases, complaints, and tasks.
ArkCase is designed to be easily customized. Depending on your business customization, your version of ArkCase may be slightly different than the examples you will see in the ArkCase Help pages.
Organizations can customize ArkCase workflows, modules, and module integration. Module names and the heading and field titles within modules can be personalized.
